A: Yes, I do believe that it is important to protect ourselves from outside media influences. The CRTC promotes Canadian broadcasting. We do have access to media from all over the world, but the majority of the music and pop culture we encounter is from Canada and the United States. Sometimes it is hard to distinguish ourselves from America Although we are a very different from the American culture, it is important to have boundaries. Like what Canada broadcasts all over the country should be a certain percentage of Canadian content. That being said, we should also promote globalization. I think outside media sources influence of greatly. The thing that motivates me the most is from media coverage I saw from Africa. If it wasn't for globalization, I wouldn't know what happens all over the world. It is extremely important to know what goes on in our world, and media is a great way to help our world. Although, cultures should also protect their own identity, and media in ones country is a huge influence on its identity.
